Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya: Where the helpless become empowered with education
Founded by the School and Mass Education Department of Government of Odisha, the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan is the apex body that supervises the establishment and running of a chain of model schools called the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya.

These CBSE affiliated model schools are set up in nearly every district of Odisha. The focus is to establish one of these model schools at every backward block of Odisha where children face many obstacles on the road of education.

The Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya project is especially beneficial for kids who come from underprivileged sections of the society and belong to economically unstable families. The Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya provides free education from Class VI to Class XII. From nutritious mid-day meal programmes designed for the complete development of the kids to appropriate textbooks and study materials, the students of an Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya get access to all kinds of resources needed for a fruitful and successful academic career. Like other government schools, the uniform of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya is also free. What sets Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya apart from other state government run schools is the CBSE affiliated academic structure they follow and the modern facilities offered to students on the premises of the schools. From smart classrooms to well-equipped laboratories, sports infrastructure to highly educated faculty, an Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya offers everything that a national level CBSE affiliated school provides its students with. Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya hold an annual entrance exam for school admissions every year and this year, the case was no different. Deserving children from different parts of Odisha and from different backgrounds get the chance to study at the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya through the annual entrance examination. Children who have suffered from an early age and are at risk of losing their basic rights of education and safety are given the opportunity to study at the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya. This year, 31 kids saved by government and non-government organisations from atrocities like child marriage, child labour, trafficking and abuse have cleared the annual entrance examination to study at the Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya . Out of the children who will be joining the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya for education, 7 are from Cuttack, 7 and 7 are from Gajapati. Children from Nabarangpur, Sonepur, Jharsuguda will also be joining the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya this year. By giving the underprivileged and abused children an opportunity to study at the state model schools, the Odisha government is helping thousands of children in building a golden future for themselves.
